Can anyone sign up to FeeWise?

FeeWise is only available to law firms who are operating in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. However, we are planning to launch in other markets in the near future so if you would like to know when give us a shout at sales@getfeewise.com.

How long does the application process take?

Our sign up process is very quick, fill out our forms to get started. Once we have the required onboarding information, we will process your application and activate your account within 24 hours.

How much does FeeWise cost?

FeeWise is a subscription free pay-as-you go payments product so you only pay when your client pays by card or eCheck. For a list of our transaction fees visit our pricing page here.

What payment methods do you accept?

With FeeWise you can accept payments from most local and international card schemes including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners Club, JCB, Union Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and more. We also accept payments by ACH / e-Check too.

Are there any payment minimums or maximums?

For payments, the maximum card payment is US$100,000.00 and maximum e-Check payment is US$10,000.00. The minimum payment is US$1.00.

When do I get paid?

Our standard payout time is between 2-7 business days from the date of payment and will vary by bank processing time and payment method.

How do refunds work?

A law firm can request and approve a client refund through the FeeWise dashboard. Refunds take 3-8 business days to complete depending on the payment method. Where a transaction is already paid out, we will recover the funds from the law firm’s nominated account before we process the refund. There are no additional fees to process a refund. Transaction fees for processing the original transaction will still apply.

How do chargebacks work?

Whilst we have a number of fraud protections in place, FeeWise does not assume any liability in the event of a chargeback. There is a $15 USD chargeback fee applied to each chargeback in addition to the full payment amount and FeeWise transaction fee. Any chargeback cost will be applied to your next monthly bill and you will be notified in advance by our support team.

What is Pay Later?

Pay Later is a flexible payment option that allows your clients to pay their legal bills over time, while your firm receives the full payment upfront. Pay Later is available on client payment pages and is powered by trusted providers like Affirm and Klarna.

Why should you offer Pay Later?

Pay Later gives clients the option to split legal costs into manageable payments, while your firm is paid in full upfront. It improves affordability and reduces collections without affecting your cash flow. Firms that offer Pay Later can gain up to a 14% increase in revenue. There's no risk to your firm if a client misses payments, and set up is quick from your dashboard.

How does it work?

Your clients will be presented with Pay Later options applicable to their transaction. When either Affirm or Klarna is selected, they will be taken through a short application with the provider. If approved, they can select from eligible installment options and complete payment immediately. You receive the full amount upfront, and the provider handles all repayments and communication with the client.

Who is eligible for Pay Later?

Affirm and Klarna payment options are available to individual consumers in the United States and are not eligible for business or commercial use. All Pay Later options are subject to eligibility checks and approval by the respective provider, and terms may vary based on creditworthiness and other factors.

Is my firm at risk if the client doesn’t repay?

No. Once a client’s Pay Later transaction is completed, your firm receives full payment upfront. Any late or missed payments are handled entirely by the provider, with no financial recourse to your firm.

Does Pay Later have a minimum and maximum payment limit?

The following minimum and maximum amounts apply to the Pay Later payment option.

There’s no action required from your end. If Pay Later is enabled, eligible transactions will see it as a payment option during checkout. Affirm and Klarna explain the product through the application process.

For payments made by card, there is a minimum of $0.50 and maximum of $999,999.99 CAD in a single day.

When do I get paid?

Our standard payout time is between 2-7 business days from the date of payment and will vary by bank processing time and payment method.

How do refunds work?

Only a law firm can request and approve a client refund. To do this, a law firm needs to contact us at support@getfeewise.com with the refund details. Once received, we will process the refund request within 14 days and provide a confirmation once completed. Please note, the FeeWise transaction fees are non-refundable in the event of a refund.

How do chargebacks work?

Whilst we have a number of fraud protections in place, FeeWise does not assume any liability in the event of a chargeback.
